SPORTS FLASH: Viewmont girls fifth in 5A golf; Bountiful ties for sixth in 4A

MIDWAY - After the final putt dropped on the state 4A and 5A girls' golf competition Wednesday at Wasatch Park Golf Course in Midway, three out of four south Davis County high schools ended up finishing in the top 10.

Of the four, the Lady Vikings of Viewmont finished the highest, placing fifth overall in the 5A tournament with a team score of 203. Davis finished ninth overall.

In 4A golf action, the Lady Braves finished in sixth place after putting up a team score of 201 while Woods Cross placed 14th overall.

Individually, Carly Oldroyd of Davis placed third overall in 5A with a score of 78. Viewmont's Mikenna Worthington and Hannah Hall each shot 90 to finish just outside the top 10. Bountiful's Carly Anderson shot an 88 to finish tied for seventh place in 4A. Woods Cross' top scorer was Halle Smith, shooting a 102.
