Though the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival runs from today, May 17, all the way until next Monday, the big fun at the Legacy Events Center will be May 18 and 19.
A mix of workshops and activities for all ages and skill levels will be available free for both days of the event, showing off our feathered friends, how to tell them apart, and what can be done to help protect them.
On Friday, student art displays and vendor booths will be open from noon to 7 p.m. The first workshop, however, won’t start until 4 p.m., with featured speaker Greg Miller showing residents how to distinguish different birds just by the sounds they make.
