It was a difficult day for Boyd Fisher when he saw that the large white and blue letters spelling Bountiful Lumber & Supply Co. were gone. They had been removed from the Main Street building that housed his family’s business for three generations. Imagine his pleasant surprise then, when the letters reappeared a few weeks later. They were repainted, restored, and reflective of the commitment the building’s new occupants put into preserving a key chapter of downtown Bountiful’s history. Deseret Health Group wanted to honor the Bountiful Lumber legacy by keeping the look and feel of the historic building while completely remodeling the interior for their corporate headquarters.

That combination of respect for the past and vision for the future is at the heart of efforts by many people to simultaneously preserve and promote what has been called the most classic Main Street in Utah.
