During Bountiful’s opening round game of the 4A softball playoffs against Springville, Stoddard again proved to be a solid player both at the plate and inside the circle as the Lady Braves took down Springville 4-0 Tuesday afternoon.
Stoddard’s 10th win of the season was nearly like her other nine wins as she pitched solidly throughout the game. While on the rubber, she allowed just one hit while the defense behind her didn’t commit a single error in the game. She also struck out nine hitters while going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate in the victory.
Offensively the rest of the Lady Braves were able to score four runs on just five hits. Their initial run of the game came in the first inning, then followed that by scoring single runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings to take a 3-0 lead. With Stoddard shutting down the Springville offense, the Lady Braves scratched across another run in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the scoring on the afternoon.
