Richard and Karon Cook will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on May 29.

Richard grew up in Utah and Karon was raised in Yuma, Ariz. While Richard was attending BYU and earning his master’s degree, a certain young freshman caught his eye and they fell in love. They were married May 29, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and have called Bountiful their home for 43 years.

Richard retired after 30 years as a guidance counselor and soccer coach at Viewmont High School. He and Karon have been enjoying their retirement years with their seven children: JuliAnn, Michael (Tina), Sharilyn (Rick), John (Natalie), Carolee, Mindy (Tyler), Shalisa (Adam) and 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Congratulations on 50-years of marital bliss! Love, your children
