PROVO — The Davis Darts boys’ and girls’ track and field teams went into last weekend’s 5A state championship with the slim hopeh of repeating as state champions.

Given the team’s recent rash of injuries, and the fact that their track was torn up and in the middle of being replaced along with the new football field –leaving little room for practice time— fans may not have been sure if Davis’ dominance would continue at the finals.

However, after all the competitions were finished, the Darts’ completely dominated in the state championship as both the boys’ and girls’ teams took home state titles for the second consecutive year. The boys’ team won by 37.5 points, scoring a 16 event total of 124.5 points to beat out the Riverton Silverwolves, who scored 87 points.
