DAVIS COUNTY — Several cities in Davis County and Hill Air Force Base, will usher in summer with a host of Memorial Day activities on Monday.

The largest celebration can be found in Woods Cross, where Memorial Day is the city’s main annual celebration

Residents from throughout Davis County may join Woods Cross residents for a day, filled with patriotic activities, fun and music.

The day begins with a 5K walk/run at 7 a.m. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m., or register online at

www.woodscross.com.

Following the race at 8 a.m., will be the annual flag ceremony, featuring Woods Cross Police, and patriotic songs performed by the Rob Ellis Chorus.

The keynote speaker this year, will be Tony Galvez, father of Adam Galvez, a U.S. Marine, who died in Iraq with another Marine when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb on Aug. 20, 2006.
