FARMINGTON — Residents of Farmington turned out in force, recently, in what could be called a giant spring cleanup.

The Comcast Day of Caring, sponsored by the communications/cable company, was a partnership with the City of Farmington held recently.

“We thought it was a tremendous showing of city spirit,” said City Manager David Millheim. “There were close to 500 volunteers and close to a dozen projects conducted around the city.”

Those included planting trees to painting underpasses and clearing trails.

“There were a couple hundred on the ‘Lagoon Trail’ alone.” Millheim was among those volunteers, working alongside one of his grandsons.
