Letha (Hyle) Wood was born June 13, 1912 in Rexburg, Idaho to Minnie Machen and Thomas Hyle. Letha is the oldest of seven children, having three brothers and three sisters. She grew up in Rexburg. While growing up, she enjoyed spending time with her siblings. Letha is an alumni of Madison High School in Rexburg. She has a great love for education and has enjoyed continuing her education since then. In 1936, she married Walter Wood. They had three children together: John, Marquita, and David. Letha has a great love for the Hawaiian island and the beauty that exists there. She enjoys doing genealogy work and loves both viewing and producing oil paintings. She spent 15 years as a LDS temple worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. One of Letha’s favorite quotes to live by was given to her by her bishop. “Do something as a family, to keep you close together.” Letha is a joy to everyone around her! Happy 100th Birthday Letha!
