DAVIS COUNTY — Music sounds even sweeter when it’s free.

The Davis Arts Council is once again offering up an entire summer of free music with their upcoming Free Sunday Night Concert Series, starting June 3 at 7 p.m. at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater in Layton.

The focus of the series is locally-based, family friendly music in a variety of styles, and this year’s series will open with the Dunmore Lasses. The group, who describes their music as “not so traditional Irish and Scottish music,” will perform on June 3.

“We are happy to be kicking off the 2012 Free Sunday Night Concert Series,” wrote the group on their Facebook page.

The June 10 concert will offer a mix of music, featuring shorter performances by both the Cutler Family Fiddlers and the Davis Master Chorale. The Celebration Chamber Orchestra will perform on June 17, while the Flutes from Temple Square will travel up from Salt Lake for the June 24 performance.
