KAYSVILLE — He was described as a pillar of the community by one, as an icon by another.

Richard C. “Dick” Bowman, chairman of the board of Bowman’s Market, passed away earlier this week after recent struggles with heart problems.

“He’s just a great man,” said Gaylen Sprague, president of Bowman’s. “He stood for his values and what he believed in.”

“The store has been an integral part of the community and Dick has always been so generous to everyone in the community,” said Jeff Dunford, a member of the Bowman’s board of directors. “His legacy will continue forward with the store, but he will be missed.”
