KAYSVILLE — On what was perhaps the biggest game of his high school career, Mitch Jensen performed like an MVP for the Davis Darts.

In fact, the Darts’ senior goal keeper had performed like an MVP all season long, recording 12 shutouts in 20 games including a pair over Lone Peak and Copper Hills to get the Darts into last Thursday’s final against Brighton.

Then, against Brighton, Jensen made one stop after another in order to pick up the final shutout of his high school career, which also capped off a strong run for the Darts, resulting in a state title.

“(Jensen) played so well today,” said Mitch Parkinson, who scored the only goal in the championship game against Brighton. “He’s the MVP of the day and really the whole season. He’s played so well for us all season. He came up big and backed us all game long. He’s the reason we won (the state title) today.”
