1926-2012
Daniel Fullmer Wood, 85, passed away in his home on June 6, 2012, after a short battle with Leukemia. He enjoyed his last days surrounded by his loving family.
Dan was born on December 30, 1926 in Bountiful, Utah to Beatrice Fullmer and George C. Wood. He was the fifth of eight children. He was raised in Bountiful and remained a life-long resident living among many wonderful neighbors and friends.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served at the end of WWII. He served an LDS mission in the Northwestern States Mission.
He married Marjean Maughan on May 2, 1958, later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised four wonderful children, three sons and one daughter.
He had a great love for his Savior and never wasted an opportunity to share that love and knowledge with everyone he met. He was a dedicated and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He was an expert gardener making sure to plant enough for his family and all the neighbors too. He loved his country and marveled at the beauty of the earth and universe. He loved to go fishing and hunting and wanted to spend as much time as possible with his family and grandchildren. In fact, he wanted us all to live together in one big house so we'd never have to go home.
He is survived by his wife and four children Daniel D. (Shirleen), Kurt (Stephanie), Terah (Marc Doane), and Nathan (Michele); and 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice and especially Ryan Cook, Dr. Kline, and Nancy Weber for their loving care and concern.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012, at the LDS Chapel located at 2285 S. 200 W., Bountiful, Utah. A viewing was held Sunday, June 10, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, and Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
