NORTH SALT LAKE — Residents get one more chance to chime in about the new city hall building.

The North Salt Lake City Council will be holding a special public hearing to take comment on the planned building on Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at city hall. The city will also be choosing a construction manager for the project, the next step in a process the city has spent the last several years preparing for.

“There’s not just one person or group of people driving this,” said North Salt Lake City Manager Collin Wood. The city has already set aside enough money to pay for the new building. “It’s been planned and budgeted for through a number of years, mayors and city councils.”

In addition to a significant lack of space for the police department and other agencies, the current city council building does not meet either seismic or ADA standards and would require a significant amount of money to bring it up to code.
