John S. Hummel Happy 90th Birthday! Dear Dad, We love you so much and are very proud to be celebrating this momentous milestone with you. You entered this world a mere 90 years ago this very day, June 28, 1922. Born to John H. and Ruth Hummel, you grew up in Salt Lake City, but your heart longed for the country. So you moved to Centerville to realize your dream of nurturing your own garden and orchard. You are the hard-working husband of Kathleen J. Hummel, the proud father of Kathy, Wendy, John, Tamara, Heidi, and Shannon, and fondly called Gramp by 23 grandkids and 46 great-grands. We’ll always remember your timely advice: Life by the yard is mighty hard; life by the inch is a cinch! Congratulations for stringing together enough inches to make it to 90! We hope you stretch it out another yard!

John and Kathleen are celebrating with a trip to Mt. Rushmore and a family dinner with their children in July.
