THOSE IN PURPLE T-shirts at the annual Relay for Life in Bountiful, proved the value of raising money for the research event. They had survived cancer.

He was joined by 18 others, who made up the team, “Invictus,” at the South Davis area’s annual Relay For Life.
Other teams also took to the grassy field, walking in shifts through the night between luminarias dedicated to those whose lives were affected – or ended – by cancer.
“The symbolism is that cancer never sleeps, so neither will we,” he said.
Beyond remembering, those who walked were fighting cancer by raising money to donate to the American Cancer Society for cancer research.
“Celebrate, remember, fight back,” read the T-shirts they wore.
Some of the shirts were green, to indicate that their wearers were caregivers; some were yellow, for committee members and organizers.
