DAVIS COUNTY – If you’re looking for a little variety in your Independence Day celebrations, cities all across the county are here to help.

In addition to the parades and fireworks, cities are hosting everything from concerts to races to a car show. No matter what you’re looking for to add some flare to your fourth, someone in Davis County is ready to help.

North Salt Lake’s Festival of Speed will be July 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Eaglewood Golf Course’s 10th hole. This year, the free event will be specifically celebrating the 60th anniversary of the European car company Lotus, but there will be a variety of other classic cars on display as well.

Layton will start off the musical part of the holiday, with its free Voices of Liberty concert coming to the Ed Kenley Amphitheater July 1 at 7 p.m. West Bountiful will hold an open mic night July 3 at 7 p.m. at West Bountiful City Park, followed at 8 p.m. by Endless Summer. Kaysville/Fruit Heights Idol will be June 28 and 29 in the Davis High gym.

The Salamanders, a well-known cover band, will perform July 3 at 8 p.m. at Founders Park in Centerville (magician Al Lampkin will provide the pre-show, starting at 7:15). The city will also have music on July 4, with the Rockin’ Rob Band performing at the city’s carnival at Founder’s Park. The carnival is set to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
