FARMINGTON — More facilities are coming to the Legacy Events Center, including fields to support soccer and lacrosse.

Along with that, more recreational vehicle parking spots are being created on the west Farmington facility’s west and southwest side.

Restrooms and showers are also being added following a request for such a service by the people who come to attend dog shows, wrestling events and other events.

“There is funding in the budget this (current) year, and we are going to move forward at a good pace,” said County Commissioner John Petroff. “This will be a good amenity for our citizens and for economic development,” he said, referring to both local and out-of-town players.

MGB+A engineering firm is designing the four new “college-level” fields and have also developed a proposed master plan for the entire Events Center.

The fields probably will be ready for play within two years, said Center Director David Hansen.

This year, underground utilities including a sprinkling system are being installed along with sod.
