CENTERVILLE — Three Davis County students were among 23 from Utah and 2,200 from across the United States to be recognized for the positive impact they are making in their communities through volunteerism.

The Kohl’s Cares Scholarship program recognized Alison Bouck of Kaysville, Cassandra Harris of Bountiful and Emily Welch of Farmington with $50 gift cards.

The three students now qualify for a chance to receive a $1,000 regional scholarship for post-secondary education.

The scholarship program is part of a philanthropic program focused on improving the lives of children.

“Every effort, large or small, makes a difference,” said Julie Gardner, Kohl’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

“We strive to not only recognize these efforts but also encourage outstanding youth to improve their communities through volunteerism.”
