There will be a chance to see many historic buildings during a bus tour, hear the organ in the historic Bountiful LDS Tabernacle, and see and hear pioneer stories at the Bountiful Memorial Cemetery, said Tom Tolman, member of the Bountiful Historical Commission and the Bountiful city council.
On Saturday, July 21, the Bountiful Historic Commission will offer its bus tour to view several dozen historic sites. Tours will depart from the Willey historic cabin at about 750 S. Main Street (northwest of the Bountiful Police Department) on the hour from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The tour is free but donations will be accepted. Tours last about 50-55 minutes.
Historic homes, businesses and schools or the sites on which the original buildings stood will be visited.
In conjunction with Davis School District’s 100th anniversary, several schools in Bountiful will be highlighted.
Tours will also be offered in the Bountiful LDS Tabernacle, 50 South Main Street, on the half hour, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Visitors can watch a short video telling the building’s history, and how it has been visited by each LDS president but Joseph Smith. It is the longest continuously used chapel in the LDS church.
