BOUNTIFUL — All the colors, tastes and sounds of Bountiful’s annul Summerfest celebration are around the corner, but organizers are still looking for local families willing to host international guests.

Beds are still needed for at least 100 people, said Summerfest Housing Director Dawna Holt.

The 27th annual cultural festival will take place Aug. 5 until Aug. 12. Artists will visit from several countries, including Columbia, Costa Rica, Croatia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Siberia, Sierra Leone and France. This represents almost double the number of performing groups that have visited in the past, according to Holt.

Host families are meeting July 27 at 7 p.m. at the art center. Interested families can attend that meeting or can call Holt at (801)842-8493 with questions.

Summerfest is also accepting applications for artist and food booths. You can download an application at bdac.org and email it to infor@bdac.org or can call the Bountiful/Davis Art Center at 801-292-0367 for more information.
