On July 6, 2012 John and Shonny Russell celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They met at a church dance in Southern California and later married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. In 1969 they moved their family to Bountiful when John was transferred by his employer, IBM. John worked as an engineer for IBM for 43 years while Shonny taught painting and crafts and survived raising four boys: John (Jr.), Mike, Scott and James.

Following retirement in 2005 John and Shonny have enjoyed spending time with their children, 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. They also enjoy traveling, working on family histories, and contributing to their local community. To celebrate their golden anniversary John and Shonny traveled to California where it all began.

For all that you have done and all that you do, it’s an honor to say that we are your children. Congratulations Mom and Dad!
