Rachel Lynn McCarty and Steven Lewis Sorensen will be married Thursday, Aug. 9 in the Bountiful LDS Temple. A reception will be held that evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bountiful Central Stake Center, 640 S. 750 East, Bountiful. All family and friends who wish to attend the reception are welcome.

Rachel is the daughter of Dean and Carol McCarty of South Jordan. She graduated from Dugway High School, is studying architecture and music at the University of Utah and is employed at Big 5 Sports. She and Steve met as members of the University of Utah Marching Band.

Steve is the son of Terry and Meredith Sorensen of Bountiful. He graduated from Bountiful High School, served in the Chile Santiago East Mission and is studying exercise and sports science at the University of Utah. He plans to continue his studies in physical therapy and is employed at Utah Physical Therapy Specialists.

Following a honeymoon cruise to Mexico, the happy couple will make their home in Bountiful.
