Rodney and Ruby met at Payson High School and were high school sweethearts. They married in Kaysville Utah on August 3, 1942 and were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple on May 20, 1943. They have seven children and spouses, Ken and Reta Felt, Fruit Heights; Larry and Jackie Felt, Lehi; Judy and Gary Rigby, Kaysville; Merrill and Paula Felt, Layton; Jeff and Tina Felt, Kaysville; Brett and Kayla Felt, Kaysville, and Annalisa and Kirk Smith, Roy. They have 28 grandchildren and soon to be 48 great- grandchildren. They have called Kaysville their home for the past 57 years, but previously lived in Layton, Salt Lake City, and California for a short time.
Rodney retired from both Hill Air Force Base and LDS Church employment. He was training in the Air Force in California preparing to serve at the time World War II ended. Rodney has a talent for drawing beautiful and intricate house plans and did so to supplement their income for many years. Another favorite hobby of his was playing baseball in the minor leagues with his twin brother, Roger. He has been valiant in many church callings including in the Sunday School, the Young Men’s program, high priest group leader, and he was a well-loved bishop. Ruby also has many talents and hobbies, among them writing beautiful poetry. She has served in many callings in the church including in the Primary, Young Women’s, and as a Relief Society counselor and teacher. She is still loved and remembered by many of “my girls.” Rodney and Ruby served a mission together to West Virginia and in church service missions in Salt Lake City.
We love you Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa! Thank you for your wonderful example of marriage and of lives dedicated to love and service of others and the Lord.
