LAYTON — A 14-year-old girl was injured Monday night when a pickup truck crashed into her home.
Layton Police Lt. Garret Atkin said the girl was in her bed when the truck smashed into her split-level home near 1500 North and 160 West at 10:45 p.m. The pickup crossed the road and apparently crossed several yards before impacting the basement, the lieutenant said.
The pickup truck driver was a 20-year-old man from Layton. He suffered head injuries in the crash, Atkin said. The girl suffered minor injuries.
Atkin said the name of the driver was not being released. Police are waiting on the results of toxicology reports before deciding if charges should be filed.
Police at the scene reported some paraphernalia in the truck, but there was allegedly no sign of driver impairment.
