BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful Police Sgt. Jeff Jolley has been with the force for 22 years, but he's leaving the department to go to Gladstone, Ore. There, he will initially serve as a sergeant with the police department before taking over as chief when the current chief retires, said Bountiful Police Chief Tom Ross.

Another Bountiful officer, Lt. Sol Oberg, will also leave the force soon. He will take over as police chief in Kaysville City next week.

Bountiful Mayor Joe Johnson said he loves to see accomplished officers leave for leadership positions in other cities. It proves that Bountiful police do a great job and gives other officers a chance to move up, he said.
