Troop 762, sponsored by the Bountiful 31st Ward, announces that Jeremy Jones has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the 201st young man to earn his Eagle in the troop since it was organized in 1967. He passed his Board of Review June 10, 2012.

Jeremy is the son of Scott and Kim Jones. Jeremy joins his father and brother, Preston, who are also Eagle Scouts. Scott also served as scoutmaster for several years. Jeremy didn’t stop at the required 21 merit badges but earned several palms (groups of five merit badges) too. He served as the troops Senior Patrol Leader for an extended period.

For his Eagle project Jeremy led the way in building a 25 foot long, eight foot wide and two foot deep long-jump pit for Millcreek Jr. High School. This involved some heavy-duty manual labor. He recruited 22 others to assist in digging the hole for the pit. The group put in a total of 88.6 hours of effort. Now with an attractive concrete border and filled with sand, the pit is a valuable addition to the school’s athletic program.
