SALT LAKE CITY — The Smithsonian wants to give you a free day at the museum.
Davis County residents can enjoy several local museums for free on Sept. 29 thanks to the Smithsonian’s Museum Day Live.
Five Salt Lake City and two Ogden Museums are among the affiliates participating in the nationwide event.
In Salt Lake, the list of participating museums includes Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum, Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Art, Utah Museum of Natural History and Fort Douglas Museum.
In Ogden, the Union Station Museums and Eccles Community Art Center are participating.
For a pair of free tickets, go to smithsonianmag.com/museumday/ticket and fill out a brief form with your name and address. The tickets will be e-mailed to you.
Other people can attend the museum with the ticket holders, but they will have to pay full admission.
