Maple Mountain won the state title with a total score of 608, followed by Bonneville (613) and Orem (615). Timpview finished fourth (622), and Timpanogos and Murray tied for fifth place with matching scores of 634.
Peyton Hastings led the scoring for Woods Cross for the day, shooting a second-day 74 for a two-day total of 145. Kyle Beard’s 83, Jordan Lewis’ 80 and Jeffery Stuart’s 79 each counted toward the team total of 316 for the second day of competition.
Jeff Giles and Austin Creer shot 84 and 87, respectively, to complete the team’s effort.
Combined, the Wildcats’ 635 score was one stroke away from finishing in the top five. Individually, Hastings finished third with a two-day total of 145, three strokes off of C.J. Lee of Timpview, who took home an individual title. Kai Ruiz of Maple Mountain shot 71 on the second day to finish two strokes ahead of Hastings in the individual standings.
Beard finish tied for 28th, and Lewis and Stuart finished tied for 43rd. Giles posted a tie for 61st and Creer finished 67th, respectively.
Highland, Olympus, Roy and East as a team finished behind Woods Cross in respective order.
