The Utah Department of Transportation has announced lane closures are scheduled through Thursday on Highway 89 near the Beck Street bridge between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. daily, as part of the EXPRESSLinks Project between Beck Street and the I-215 Interchange with I-15.
The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the I-15 EXPRESSLink corridor from the I-215 interchange to 500 North, and speeding fines are doubled in this zone.
Crews will be working on or near the road, and construction vehicles will be in the vicinity.
Motorists are advised to allow plenty of time to travel through the area, and should also be alert to their surroundings, and to watch for workers and their equipment.

In Fruit Heights UDOT crews will be making upgrades and repairs to an electronic variable message traffic alert sign located on southbound US-89 at Green Street. This project could take up to a week to complete.
The outside lane of southbound US-89 may be restricted prior to the location of this work, and motorists are urged to slow down and move to the inside lanes of southbound Highway 89 as they pass through this work zone.
Through Wednesday a crew will be painting new stripes on both north and south bound Interstate 15 between State Street and Park Lane in Farmington.
Motorists should watch for the flashing arrows mounted on these slow moving vehicles, alerting drivers to the lanes to drive in.
Motorists should also slow down and be alert for sudden lane changes by these vehicles.
Roadside utility work and demolition of properties in the right-of-way will be going on for the Syracuse Road project, between 1000 and 2000 West, through Thursday.
This work, being conducted at night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., is preparatory to the summer paving project which will add two new travel lanes in each direction plus a center turning lane.
Motorists should be alert to construction crews along the shoulder of the roadway, and lane restrictions that may result from this work.
The state signals crew has begun installing a highway luminaire pole and Wavetronix sensors on southbound Interstate 15 near Hill Field Road and exit 331 in Layton.
The work will be off the shoulder, but motorists should move to an inside lane and be alert when passing this project area.
