Funding requests sought

FARMINGTON — Grant applications are being  accepted through Nov. 2 from groups wishing to receive Commissioners’ Cup funding. 

The annual golf tournament has been held since 1999 to benefit the youth of the county through various educational programs. ABout $17,500 was raised.

Winners of this year’s 14th annual tournament were the players from Lewis Young Robertson & Burningham, Inc., Jason Burningham, Tom Rose and Justin McMurtrey. 

Brent Moyes of the North Salt Lake City team scored a hole in one. He did it in190 yards with a six iron on Hole No. 7 at the Davis Park Golf Course.

He won a three-night, two-round stay and play vacation in San Antonio, Texas at the JW Marriott. Cutrubus Volkswagon of Layton sponsored the prize.

Next year’s tournament will be Aug. 14 at Valley View Golf Course in Layton. 

Applications are available at daviscountyutah.gov or from the county commission office, 61 S. Main Street, 3rd Floor, Farmington.
