James Clark is running for re-election to the Davis School District Board of Education and he has my support. Jim has served the Davis County residents with great distinction and accomplished a great deal. With many challenges, the Davis School (DSD) District remains one of the outstanding school districts in Utah and the Country. These challenges include large budget cuts, lowest per-pupil spending, and the highest class sizes in the country. In spite of these and other challenges, the DSD still enjoys high test scores and graduation rates. The Foreign Language Immersion program is the largest such program in Utah. The list of accomplishments goes on and on. Jim is a true leader and he has greatly influenced the success of the DSD. He understands the importance of setting wise and appropriate DSD policies and establishing a responsible and balanced budget. Jim is a fiscal conservative and is totally committed to providing a quality education for the students of the district. Jim is not afraid to make tough decisions and he is guided by their impact on families, students, county residents, and DSD employees. When making decisions he utilizes his successful business experiences, diligently researches each issue and relies on input from his constituents and district staff. Jim is totally committed to his responsibilities and serves with honor and integrity. I recently retired from the DSD after 41 years of service. I am proud of our district and the families I worked with and supported. Davis is great place to live. I had the opportunity to spend countless hours and days for the past 15 years to meet with Board members informally and in closed and open board meetings. With these experiences, I highly recommend James Clark for re-election.
