BOUNTIFUL —Families who want to earn $1,000 for their schools and win an iPad 2 have another week to decorate their homes, fences or mailboxes as part of the 27th annual Red Ribbon Week contest.
The national contest was to end today, buthas been extended by a week because of Hurricane Sandy. Online voting has been reschedule for Nov. 10-24.
This year, the theme is, “The Best Me Is Drug Free.”
“This year, families can get involved by entering a contest to promote awareness in their neighborhoods and win a drug prevention grant for their schools,” said a press release from the National family Partnership, which is sponsoring the Red Ribbon campaign. “The odds of winning are good because families can generate their own online votes from friends, colleagues, schoolmates and family members.”
Parents or gaurdians of participants should upload a photo of their family and decorated home at redribbon.org/contest or facebook.com/RedRibbonWeek. There will be 10 regional winners. Vote at redribbon.org/vote.
