BOUNTIFUL — The speech and debate program at Bountiful High School was recognized by the National Forensic League last month. “Because your chapter achieved 100 degrees or more last year, it has placed in the top 10 percent of NFL chapters nationwide and earned membership in the League’s prestigious 100 Club,” said J. Scott Wunn, executive director of NFL in a letter to Jessica Tensmeyer. Degrees are earned by student participation in debate, speech and writing competitions. “The hard work you have invested to achieve this distinction will pay dividends for years to come,” said Wunn. “I encourage you to build this momentum to ensure that even more students are empowered to become effective communicators, ethical individuals, critical thinkers, and leaders in a democratic society.”
