SYRACUSE — Syracuse police are investigating the death of a local couple whose bodies were found in their home Monday morning in what police believe was a murder-suicide.

The bodies of Gary Lee Lucero, 41, and Jessica A. Lucero, 39, were discovered about 8 a.m. after a relative reported they had seen the dead man through a window and called police, according to Syracuse Lt. Tracy Jensen.

Police are not disclosing the manner of death and are waiting for the results of an autopsy before releasing that information. Those results are expected to come sometime Tuesday.

The man and woman were civilian employees at Hill AFB.

The couple is well-liked in the community, Jensen said. Gary Lucero coached youth football and a youth lacrosse league.
