1920-2012



Rachel Harris Palmer, born December 27, 1920 to Elijah Lee Harris Jr. and Nelle Fortner in Owenton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on the beautiful sunny day of November 13, 2012. Rachel married the love of her life December 23, 1939, Joseph “Henry” Palmer. They shared 72 years of devotion to one another, to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to their 5 children.

Rachel was a pillar of strength and an example to all of faith, service and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her 3 siblings. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Palmer; children: Duane Elliott (Mary) Palmer, Harold Lee Palmer, Edwin Eugene (Deborah) Palmer, James Alner (Diana) Palmer, and Connie LyNell Palmer; 12 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Bountiful 58th Ward, 200 N. 200 West. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Tuesday morning 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
