Holding a slim lead after the first half, the Braves were outscored 24-19 in the second half as the Cavemen picked up the win Friday night. Zach Seljaas and Sam Merrill each scored 14 points in the loss.
Davis 67, Cottonwood 43
Davis scored 20 points in the second and third quarter, and held the Colts to single digit scoring efforts in those quarters, in order to pull away with the victory Friday night. Abel Porter scored a game-high 16 points and Jesse Wade had 13 points in the Darts’ win.
Viewmont 64, Layton 54
The Vikings scored 60 points for the second consecutive game to open the season, picking up a 10-point win over Layton Friday. Jarom Tye had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and McKay Johnson and McKay Richins each scored 11 points in the win.
Bingham 49, Davis 36
The Lady Darts were held to just eight first half points and were unable to recover from a 24-point halftime deficit, despite scoring 20 points in the third quarter. Morgan Hartvigsen and Natalie Mecham each scored nine points in the loss.
Bountiful 51, Westlake 36
The Lady Braves had three players score in double figures as Bountiful picked up the win over Westlake. Jenny Skedros scored a game-high 14 points, and Kennedy Merrick and Tiana Dougher each added 12 points in the win.
Layton 57, Woods Cross 19
Woods Cross scored just four points in the second half against Layton, who outscored the Wildcats by 20 points in the second half to pick up the win. Layton’s Maddi Smith had a game-high 14 points, and Aubree Riddle led the Wildcats with 10 points.
