1937-2012

John Kent Trease, decided to go to his next adventure on December 8, 2012. Kent was a man that loved life, his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, Rock Star, olives, pickles, cheese, licorice, basketball, football; and, most of all his eternal companion, Donna. He has gone to a place of peace and comfort to be united with his oldest son, J.R., parents, brothers, and many friends.

Kent was born in Tremonton on January 27, 1937 to parents Ivy and Frank Trease. His life was full of adventure from the beginning. He had three brothers, Bob, Bud, and Monte. He married Donna Lee Menzies in 1956 and they were sealed for time and eternity on January 28, 1965. He was a humble man and was always willing to help anyone in any way that he could. He worked hard from the age of eight, when he worked on a dry farm in Idaho with his two big brothers, his family settled in Scofield, Utah when he was six . He moved on to the gas fields, and after graduation from Box Elder High School he progressed into management positions with Skaggs Drug Centers, making life an adventure in Salt Lake City; Provo; Denver, Colorado; Brigham City, and finally Bountiful. His roots were planted since 1971 when he established JKT Associates, a sales firm. From there he became employed with Intercraft Industries; followed by his own craft store, Imagination Station; and, from there his most favorite career of all, being a Bus Driver for Davis School District for seventeen years.

Kent touched many lives and was loved by many. He never met a stranger because that person immediately felt Kent's love and acceptance. Kent is survived by the people that love him most, his wife, Donna; his children, Lyn (J.R.'s wife); Jami; Jory (Nisi); and, Jace. His oldest son, J.R. predeceased him, to prepare the way for his father. Grandchildren: Janica, Joshua (Brittany), Jacalyn, Jessica (Jon), Jamen, Jentri, Justin (Jazmin), Jakenzie, J.R., James Isaac; and, foster grandson, Tua. Great-grandchildren; Hunter, Bentley, Camden, Brighton, Laila, Kanyon and Jack.

We will say our temporary farewell to Kent on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at his funeral services to be held at the Bountiful Central Stake Center, 640 S. 750 East, Bountiful at 11 a.m. Friends and family may visit Friday, December 14, 2012, at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. just prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Estates. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
