OGDEN – Weber State University will hold its 140th commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 14 in the Dee Events Center.

More than 1,400 candidates from WSU’s business school and six academic colleges will receive their degrees and institutional certificates at the ceremony, which begins at 1 p.m.

A program honoring parents, spouses and friends of graduates,  “Putting Student Through,” is set to precede the ceremony. It starts at 9 a.m. in the Shepherd Union Ballroom.

The keynote address will be given by Gail Miller, owner of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. He will be awarded an honorary degree.

Zachary Jones, an Ogden resident who majored in English, is scheduled as the student speaker.

Seating is first-come, first-served and tickets are not required. Parking on campus will be free throughout the day. A shuttle will operate between the center and the Stewart Library between 6:30 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Copies of the ceremony will be available for $3 at the campus bookstore on Jan. 7, 2013.
