CLEARFIELD – Students at Clearfield High are setting their sights on raising $12,000 next week, in a series of fund raisers held to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Service men and women who have been severely injured are the focus of the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization that seeks to help with their unique needs.

The “Falcons are Fabulous” fund raiser has become an annual tradition at Clearfield. In 2010, the school raised $14,000 for Project Guatemala, funds that were used to provide a day care. Last year, students raised nearly $12,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Clearfield High students will hold a kick-off assembly for the fund raiser at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17 and a concluding assembly at the same time on Friday, Dec. 21.

An auction that is open to the public will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17.

The auction will feature student artwork in a variety of media, including sewing, welding, painting and digital media pieces around the theme of courage.

Clearfield High’s focus is educating and preparing students for productive lives, emphasizing “rigor, relevance and relationships,” according to a release.

The school is located at 931 S. 1000 East in Clearfield.
