SALT LAKE CITY – Utah State Parks, in partnership with ParksByNature Network, has launched a smartphone application to provide park information to visitors on the go.

Users can find interactive GPS and map technology for tracking trails, marking way points, and locating landmarks on the online app. 

It also has an alert feature that supplies GPS coordinates to designated contacts in case of emergencies.

Other features are the GeoChallenge, a game that offers novice and expert outdoorsman points of interest, a comprehensive list of activities, a calendar of events, park rules and regulations, and a link for camping reservations.
