LAYTON – The teen years are hard enough on parents and teens, sometimes. But what about those “tween” years that impact youth and parents in grades 4-8?
“Guiding Good Choices” is one option to provide parents some help. Classes will be starting in early January throughout Davis County.
The five-session class is geared to help parents learn to: teach your child to stop, think and control impulses; communicate peer pressure refusal skills; understand adolescent brain development and how it affects behaviors; develop healthy beliefs and clear standards within your family; strengthen family bonds and manage family conflict.
Class locations and starting times are: Jan. 8, Ellison Park Elementary School, Layton; Jan. 29, Bountiful Elementary; Feb. 26, Meadowbrook Elementary in Bountiful; Feb. 27, Central Davis Junior High in Layton; Feb. 28, Wasatch Elementary in Clearfield; April 9, West Bountiful Elementary and April 11, Layton Elementary.
