LDS leader to speak on Tuesday

WOODS CROSS – The Centerville chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers will host a former general authority from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at its monthly meeting on Jan. 8.

Keith Brigham McMullin will speak at 6:30 p.m. at the Wight House in Bountiful, 95 N. Main Street.

McMullin has served as the CEO of Deseret Management Corporation since April and has been on its board on for 15 years.

He was a general authority for his church from 1995 until 2012 and served as the second councilor in its presiding bishopric. In that position, he participated in community improvement, including the recently completed City Creek Center in Salt Lake.

McMullin has also been active in humanitarian and relief efforts around the globe as part of his church service. He was managing director of the LDS Welfare Services Department. He also served as a president of the LDS Germany Frankfurt Mission. Before that, he worked for Ford Motor Company and managed several small businesses.
