Bountiful 46, Layton 43
Sam Merrill led the Braves with 15 points and Zach Seljaas added 14 points in the Braves’ narrow three-point victory. Down 31-18 after the first half, Bountiful scored 21 points in the third quarter to claim the lead, and held Layton to 12 second half points in order to seal the victory. The win marks the Braves eighth straight win to close out the preseason.
Viewmont 62, Davis 61
McKay Johnson nailed the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired as the Vikings ended Davis’ win streak with the one-point win in non-region play. Jarom Tye led the Vikings with 17 points and eight rebounds, and McKay Butler scored 12 points with seven rebounds in the win. Johnson finished with 15 points, three rebounds and two assists. Davis’ Braden Koelliker scored 19 points with 10 rebounds to finish with a double-double in the loss.
Woods Cross 99, West 66
The Wildcats exploded for 99 points in 32 minutes as they rebounded from last week’s loss to Mountain Crest. Six players scored at least 10 points for Woods Cross, including Brady Cowley (16), Jackson Pohlman (16), Xequille Harry (13), Hayden Grant (11), Mike Jacobson (10) and Skyler Farnes (10). More than half of the Wildcats’ points were scored in the second half (57), and Woods Cross scored at least 25 points in the second, third and fourth quarters.

Viewmont 62, Taylorsville 26
The Lady Vikings opened Region 2 play with an easy victory over Taylorsville Friday night. Caitlyn Larsen and Katie Toole each scored 20 points for the Lady Vikings, and Taya Adams added another six points in the victory. Viewmont’s defense didn’t allow Taylorsville to score in double figures in any quarter.
Bonneville 48, Bountiful 34
Tiana Dougher was the only Lady Brave to score in double figures, scoring 13 points in a loss to the Lakers. Emilie Volk fell one rebound shy of f getting a double-double, scoring 15 points with nine rebounds, two assists and three steals in the win for Bonneville.
