WEST BOUNTIFUL – Patrick D. Degn will present a series of classes on “The Lectures on Faith” and the “King Follett Sermon,” on Thursdays between Jan. 10 and March 14.
The classes, offered through Brigham Young University Continuing Education, will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. at the 6th and 10th Ward Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1750 N. 900 West, in West Bountiful.
Tuition is $13.50 per course or $2.50 per lecture. Checks should be made out to BYU-Adult Religion Classes.

The King Follett Sermon was given by Joseph Smith, the first president and founder of the LDS Church, at the LDS conference held on April 7, 1844, in Nauvoo, Ill., according to lds.org. It was the funeral sermon for Elder King Follett, a close friend of Smith’s who was killed in an accident.
Degn has been an instructor for LDS seminaries and institutes and has been an instructor at BYU’s Education Week. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in classical history and Latin.
