WOODS CROSS — Republican Sen. Todd Weiler, of Woods Cross, has decided not to pursue his bill that would have required helmets for all Utah motorcycle riders.
“I said all along that I would only run it if I had enough support among the Senate to get it passed,” he said, “and I don’t, despite my best efforts.”
Weiler said that he “did move the ball a couple yards” and still believes mandating helmets is right, but doesn’t want to waste the time of elected officials and citizen groups with this issue during the 2013 legislative session.
