WOODS CROSS – Police are asking the public’s help for any information regarding a Friday night shooting.

The victim, who was not identified, was shot in the arm following the altercation at a residence near 500 West and 1000 North, according to Woods Cross Police Chief Greg Butler.

About 10:40 p.m., three men came to the man’s door and asked for another person.

The victim told them the person wasn’t there and a fight broke out between the victim and the trio. That’s when the victim was shot with a handgun, police said.

Butler didn’t know the victim’s condition, but officers on the scene that night reported he was conscious and alert when taken to the hospital.

Police have interviewed witnesses. Police don’t know why the fight started or why the three men were looking for the other person.
