BOUNTIFUL — The Forza Futbol Club, located in Bountiful, will be getting a brand new 20,000 square foot facility to be built in the near future.
The new building is financed by an investor, who put in $1.6 million towards the creation of the new building, said director of coaching for Forza Dave Newman.
“This is great news for the Forza team and for our players,” he said. “We have almost 4,000 players in the club, and this facility is something we look forward to having.”
Investors for the project are Mike King and Chris Roemer, who serve as president and chairman, respectively, of the South Davis Soccer Association. Kent Whitehead will be the director of the new facility, and its estimated completion is set for October this year.
The Forza Fieldhouse, as it will be called, will allow up to four teams to train simultaneously during the colder months of the year. The training spaces will be built with floor to ceiling custom netting panels that can be easily adjusted to create as many as four different training spaces for up to 80 players.
In all, approximately 90 percent of the available space will be made for training purposes, said Newman.
The new Forza house will be directly across from the Forza Futbol Complex, which currently has six field in use or under development.
