Proceeded in death by her husband Bill Cauthon and brother Douglas Fiddament of Norwich, England. She is survived by a brother, Owen Fiddament of Norwich, England; 2 daughters, Gwendoline (Ernest) Piccoloth, West Bountiful; Susan Cauthon, Bakersfield, CA; 7 grandchildren: Bill Piccoloth, Bakersfield, CA; Tim (Marilyn) Piccoloth, Killeen, TX; Mike (Jennifer) Coarsegold, CA; Lisa (Mark) Wilcox, West Bountiful; Jamie (Brian), North Salt Lake; Darah (Brian), California; Allison (Jason), California; and 25 great-grandchildren and a new great-great-granddaughter due in April.

She was born in Norwich, Norfold, England. She lived through World War II and loved to listen to Winston Churchill at night with her family. She planted flowers on top of her bomb shelter to make it “pretty.” It was during this time she met and married a handsome young American soldier.

When the war ended, she and her young daughter traveled to America on the Queen Mary to join their husband and father. They made their home in California residing mostly in Bakersfield. They moved to Utah in 2004 to be near family.

She had many great friends, especially Millie and Barbara.

We love you “Grandma Sprite” and “Keep a stiff upper lip like a Brit.”

Memorial services 11 a.m. Orchard 4th Ward, 55 E. 350 North, North Salt Lake.

Gwen was such a wonderful person. She was a best friend to my mom Barbara. I enjoyed her company and how excited she was last summer when I planted her and my mom tomatoes. It was the simple things that made her smile. She will be missed dearly. My thoughts go out to her family and friends.
