SALT LAKE CITY — The Davis County Independent Golden Eagles hockey team didn’t end its season the way they had hoped.

However, the team is making the most of its opportunities now.

With a 4-3 victory over Utah County Independent Tuesday night, the Eagles have now won three straight playoff games against Metro Varsity, UCI North and UCI South.

DCI’s Zan Hobbs scored a hat trick in the game, scoring a goal in all three periods of the game. He finished the game with four total points, adding an assist in the second period off a Raymond Smith goal.

The Eagles will play Friday night against Salt Lake Independent at the Salt Lake City Sports Complex at 5:30 p.m.

A win will put the Eagles in the Independent Championship game, according to Trustee Ron Jorgensen.

Scores and stats provided DCI’s website.
